Together, let’s educate the generations
The Sainte-Mère-Eglise Foundation, under the aegis of the French Foundation of the Order of Malta (FFOM), takes its name from the emblematic village liberated by the Americans in 1944. Indeed, it is in this symbolic setting that it works daily to promote, fund and develop awareness and educational programs about peace, for all men and women, with no regard to origin or religion, inspired only by charity and christian brotherhood.
Each year, several hundred thousand visitors discover vestiges left from the war. Museums and Memorial ceremonies draw crowds. How accompany this movement not with a backward- looking vision but with a vision founded in a renewed commitment to the building and service of peace.
A Christian presence in Sainte-Mère-Eglise
Since 2012, sisters of many congregations and various nationalities, along with a volunteers team, welcome the numerous visitors in the so well famed Sainte-Mère-Eglise’s church. The community spreads and demonstrates the gospel of peace for all. The sisters also organize meetings, conferences and workshops to raise people’s awareness of their role in building peaceful relationships on a daily basis. The community has settled in the House of Peace, place of welcome and service, weaving bonds of reconciliation around the local area.
A place that evolves
Currently, community activities take place in their home, the House of Peace. Tomorrow, thousands of visitors to Sainte-Mère-Eglise will be welcomed in the Peace Barn, to provide everyone with a strong spiritual experience while discovering an evangelical message and to invite them to choose peace in their daily actions.
The Foundation’s resources come from the generosity of individual donors and corporate sponsors. This generosity can be in the form of a donation by check, wire transfer or on-line. Donors may receive a fiscal receipt, according to the country of their fiscal residency.
The Sainte-Mère-Eglise Foundation is under the aegis of the French Foundation of the Order of Malta. This allows all its donors to benefit from its recognition as a nonprofit organization. The FFOM foundation sits on all committees.
